MAT CERTIFICATION PROGRAM

The Pilates Mat Certification Program is comprised of 100 hours.
Candidates for the Mat Pilates certification must meet the following requirements:
• 18 years of age
• Previous Pilates Mat or yoga experience
Mat Pilates training will cover the following:
• Mat Exercises
• Relevant Props
• Teaching Skills including Assessment and Adaptations
• Private lessons and Group Class Program Design
The program of study will consist of:
• Lectures: technique, history of Pilates, anatomy, special populations
• Observation hours (student observes an experienced teacher)
• Practice Teaching (under the guidance of an experienced teacher)
• Self-Practice hours
• Students will complete:

Business Basics (including Code of Ethics and Scope of Practice) – 2

Exam Process
Written Exam (on own)
Practical Exam (50 minutes)
Teaching Exam (50 minutes)
Completion of the Program will commence at successful practical examination and passing the written exam. Students will receive a certificate of completion and are now eligible to sit for the National Pilates Certification Mat Examination and can earn the designation as a Certified Pilates Mat Teacher.
After successful completion of the Pilates Mat Certification Program students can enter the Core Power Pilates Comprehensive Program.
